Weekly Update
Week of Jan. 25, 2021
Word Work: Our class will be learning about the /oi/ syllable pattern this week. Our syllable pattern makes the sound as in coy, toil, and turmoil. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.
Valentine’s Day Notice From Mr. Hubble: February 14 is quickly approaching and of course, things this year will be a little different. It just so happens that the 14th is on a Sunday this year and students do not have school on Friday the 12th or on Monday the 15th. So, hold off on the candy and packaged Valentines, here is the plan...
During the week of February 8 - 11, our Positivity Project (P2) activities will be focused on "Love." Love means that you value close relationships with others and being close to people. The character strength of love represents the way we think, feel, and behave towards the people with whom we have close relationships. Classes will have activities and lessons in their morning meetings that will take the place of the traditional card exchange and parties. No need to send anything in from home, we will handle it all in-house. If you want to look ahead at family activities and connections for that week, remember you can access the P2 for Families at https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/ The password is P2.
New Masks: We hope you enjoyed the masks that were sent to us. A student from EP Clarke created them for every 2nd grader in St. Joe. She wrote the following to us.
Dear Lincoln 2nd Graders!
I would like you all to have a mask that I designed
for Black Lives Matter. My drawing shows that all skin
colors matter.
I hope you enjoy!
We took a class picture with our masks.
Missing Books
We seem to have had some library books go home with different owners than they were checked out to. Please peek around your home and see if either of these books made it into your house. Thanks for the help!
