Weekly Update

Thank you: I appreciate those of you who have been able to sign up for a conference time on our google doc. If you have not been able to select a day and time yet, please click on this link and select a time that works best for you. These meetings will be done virtually and last approximately 20 minutes.
Word Work: This week your child will be learning words that follow the VCe rule. This rule includes words like made, globe, quite, escape, and suppose. The words can be found on Spelling City to practice. Please remember to use the list that comes home to practice reading words, talk about the word’s meaning, and look for common patterns in the way the words are spelled. Please do not feel your child should be able to spell all the words on this list.
Ordering Lunch: Thank you for preordering your child’s lunch or additional milk before he/she comes to school. This is helping us save valuable learning time.
Math Games: This week we will be sending home directions to the game, Fishing for Ten. Students will need a deck of playing cards to play the game at home. If this is a hardship, please contact me.
Lexia Core 5: Due to the delay in getting student computers, second grade will not be starting Lexia Core 5 until later this month or the beginning of next month. Please do not have your child take the placement test at home. Thank you
