Weekly Update

Word Work: Our class will learn words that follow the long e digraph syllable pattern this week. Long e digraph syllable patterns use the following vowel teams ie, ea, and ee. The following words are examples of this pattern chief, stream, and sneeze. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to practice the long e digraph word list.
RAZ reading: RAZ reading online is up and running. I apologize for the delay. There was talk that we would not be renewing our subscription so I wanted to wait to enter the data until I knew the decision. This is a great leveled program for moving up readers. While its not as popular as DogMan it is good for increasing your child's reading potential so they can read and comprehend at a higher level. To log in your child can go to the Lincoln Symbaloo or our class page on Clever. Our class is sjpscstarks. Your child then chooses their name and the password is Bears123. I also have access to the paper books that I will be sending home with students so that is also an option if you prefer a break from screen time.
Devices: We are so excited to announce that our devices have arrived in our classrooms. Finally, we can make full use of the wonderful technology that differentiates and makes our curriculum great. The devices will be staying at school for now until we can push more information to you about traveling between school and home. Of course this plan could change if we have to go remote. Please note that if you already have a school device checked out, your child’s new device will remain at school until the other one is returned to Lincoln. Please email with any questions you may have.
