Weekly Update

Word Work: Our class will continue to learn more words that follow the long o digraph syllable pattern this week. Long o digraph syllable patterns use the following vowel teams oa, ow, and oe. The following words are examples of this pattern throat, pillow, and foe. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to practice long o digraph word list.
Flashcards: Students now have flashcards in their school folder to practice. These correlate to what level they are on in math center. The cards should be stored in their folder so they can practice at home and school. Thank you!
Math: Directions for the game, Salute can be found in our Google Classroom in the math games folder under Important Info. The only materials needed for this game is a deck of cards.
Toys & Books From Home: I spoke to the students on Friday about toys and books staying home from this point forward. Toys may come to school if it is for sharing during the student's Star Of The Week. As for books from home, we have well over 1,000 books in our classroom library. I think books from home can stay home and if a Dog Man book comes in then only one book should be at school and your child's name should be labeled inside. If you have any questions, please email me.
