Weekly Update
Week of Nov. 23, 2020
Word Work: Our class will continue learning about the long e digraph syllable pattern this week. The following words are examples of this pattern: clean, week, belief, key. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.
Lexia: Despite it being a short week, please encourage your child to get all of their minutes AND units in Core 5. They should know their unit goal as we will discuss that every Monday and the minute goal is on their Core 5 dashboard. Please email me with any questions. Thank you!!
Math Fact Practice: As the end of the year approaches, please check what level your child is on in math center. By the end of December, they should have level A (addition facts within 10) and level B (subtraction facts within 10) completed. This will allow time to complete the 2nd grade goal which is passing Wizard Level A, B, C, and D.
Devices: We are so excited for the devices to go home. The devices should be charged at night and come back to school everyday! If you have any questions about the device, we have a great website for more information. Please note that if you already have a school device checked out, your child’s new device will remain at school until the other one is returned to Lincoln.
