Weekly Update

Week of January 4, 2020

 

1  1/4	We have Media Center.    Homework:  Practice for math center and read your word list
1  1/5	We have Math Center and SEL.
1/6	We have gym.
1/7	We have art.
1/8	We have music.

Thank you!  Our class holiday parties were a huge success.  Thank you to all the parents who donated supplies. Your generosity is appreciated.

 

Word Work: Our class will be learning the -r controlled e, i, and u syllable pattern this week. Our syllable pattern will show up in words like smart, shark, start, and market.  Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.

Winter Gear: Please help your child enjoy the two 20 minute outdoor recesses by sending him or her in warm clothing each day.  A winter coat, hat, gloves or mittens, snow pants, and boots make it possible to be comfortable and play in the snow.
