Weekly Update
Week of Dec. 14, 2020
Word Work: Our class will be learning about the r-controlled o syllable pattern this week. The following words are examples of this pattern: born, more, roar, floor, and yourself. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.
Next Week’s Spirit Days
Monday the 14th : obviously Positivity Project shirts
Tuesday the 15th : wear Green Day
Wednesday the 16th: wear Red Day
Thursday the 17th: wear an Ugly Sweater Day
Friday the 18th: dress as an Elf Day
Vacation Reading: Please help your child maintain his/her reading stamina by continuing to read 15 - 20 minute nightly during our vacation from school. Many students are reading much more than the required 15 minutes and learning to make reading a natural part of their day. We appreciate your support.
IXL, Moby Max, RAZ, and Spelling City are available during winter break to maintain your child’s skill level. A few minutes of practice periodically throughout our vacation can help your child feel confident when he/she returns to school in January.
