Weekly Update
Week of Jan. 11, 2021
Word Work: Our class will be learning about the r-controlled /ar/ syllable pattern this week. Our syllable pattern makes the sound as in beware, rarely, and prairie. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.
Parent /Teacher Conferences: Conferences will be done on an "as needed basis" for students needing additional academic, social, or emotional support. They will be held starting the week of January 25th. A conference note will be coming home this week for all parents to complete and return to school as soon as possible. This information will help me schedule conferences. Thank you!
Absence: I will be out much of the week of January 19th due to a family medical issue. Mrs. Mandarino will be subbing and I will be checking in with her regularly. The students will be in good hands and their learning will not miss a beat. I will be accessible via email during that time. If you have any absences or requests for early dismissal please contact Mrs. Trumbley directly. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thank you!!
Devices: Please, please, please make sure your child has his or her device and that it is charged each day. For some activities, we are counting on those devices and a delay in learning takes place without them. Thank you so much!!!!
Book Orders: January Book order forms will be sent home this week. Please feel free to place orders online until Friday, January 22nd. Thank you
