Weekly Update

Week of March 8, 2021

 

1  3/8	We have Media Center. Books are due today.
1  3/9	We have Math Center.
3/10	We have gym.
3/11	We have art.
3/12	We have music. Dress as your favorite book character.

Welcome:  We are happy to welcome back our second grade friends who are returning to school for the third trimester.  Mrs. Crawford has joined our second grade teaching team and will be teaching the new second grade class in Room 202.  The second graders will participate in special classes and eat lunch in the gym.  

Word Work: Our class will learn the consonant + le, al, or el syllable pattern found in words like whittle, local, and nickel . Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week. 

Spring Weather:  Please note that with the changing temperatures and our proximity to the lake, it can be hard to dress for the day.  We will be enforcing coats to 50 degrees and long sleeves to 60.  As for shorts, let's keep those for days when it's going to be 60.  If we get a breeze off the lake, it can be a cold 20 minutes on the playground.  Thank you for your help.
