Weekly Update
Week of Feb. 15, 2021
Word Work: Our class will continue to learn more about the /oo/ syllable pattern. Our syllable pattern makes the sound as in blue, moon, youth. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.
Black History Month: Our second grade classes have been celebrating the contributions made by Black Americans this month. They are learning to use some electronic research tools to gather information about a person of their choice. We will share the stars they make with our class and then hang them in the hallway for others to enjoy.
Google Classroom: Please remember that if your child is absent, they can go into the weekly agenda and see what we are doing in the classroom that day. This area of the classroom also allows you to see what we are doing in class for home discussions about school.
100th Day of School: Our 100th Day of School is next week! Wow, it has been great being face to face learning and playing together!
